Two years ago WOW air became the first airline to offer regular flights between the capitals of Ireland and Iceland. At first there were only 3 weekly departures but now WOW is offering 2 flights per day. According to that the route has been a success and now Icelandair have announced that a new Dublin route will be the 50th in their network. The first Icelandair flight to Dublin airport will take off on the 8th of May and the airline will fly everyday except Saturdays.

Neither AerLingus or Ryanair offer trips to Iceland so therefore Icelandair and WOW air are the only option for direct flights to Reykjavik (KEF).  At the moment both airlines are offering flights for next summer from ca. 66-75EUR (one way) from Dublin to Reykjavik but you will have to pay for checked luggage. If you plan to visit Iceland next summer and maybe do a road trip then be prepared to pay little more than you do on mainland Europe. Prices are however coming down according to Turisti´s latest survey.
